Safety Gear Order Form
Dear Academy students & parents -
Once students obtain the rank at which contact sparring is allowed, they are required to obtain safety gear to continue their training. Contact sparring allows for light, controlled contact with each other. Safety gear is for your protection as well as your partner’s.
Contact activities are an important part of everyone’s training. If the first time you experience contact is out in public, you might be so shocked that you cannot defend yourself further. By experiencing what it’s like to be hit in a safe & controlled environment, we can minimize the surprise and shock a student would experience if actually hit.
Since contact activities are a required part of a students training, students that are missing their gear on a regular basis will not be allowed to test for their next rank. Students that don’t have their gear on days when they need it, won’t be allowed to do any contact activities during that class. As such, students are required to bring their gear with them to every class to avoid missing credit for the class. Repeated classes without gear will affect Rank testing frequency.
Safety gear can be purchased at the Academy. Use this form to select your gear and then turn this form into the office. Retail purchases must either be paid for in advance, or charged to a student's stored payment information. Packages are split into Beginner and Advanced packages simply for the ease of a family’s finances. Students may buy the total safety gear package at any time if they like.
